Rick McKee is an award winning composer, music producer, songwriter, orchestrator, arranger, music director, and vocal artist. Recording his music in the world’s preeminent studios (Skywalker Sound, Capital Studios with the Hollywood Symphony, Abbey Road Studios with the London Symphony), Rick’s work spans every direction of the commercial music industry. Rick comes to the table with over twenty years of professional experience, leading with a warm heart and a monster talent.
Since his teen years, Rick’s music has been heard by millions around the world. Rick has created arrangements for Emmy-nominated and Emmy-winning recordings and has been featured on over thirty international Walt Disney Records releases.
With broad genre versatility, classic sensibility to lyric, and an extensive orchestral vocabulary, Rick stands among the few commercial composers specializing in large-scale orchestrated songwriting (combining original music and lyrics with cinematic orchestration) and works on a variety of commercial projects within this genre.
Since graduating from Oklahoma City University, Rick has continually returned to his alma mater to work with students and has established an annual scholarship to benefit the student composers at the OCU Bass School of Music.
